Exercise and athletics continue to be integral parts of my life. My mother has been teaching physical education and running marathons for over 20 years. My father has been playing tennis competitively for about the same amount of time.

Growing up with parents as fitness role models, I played varsity volleyball and swimming in high school and intramural volleyball tournaments in college. I started resistance training and running at the age 15. But then after university, I entered the sedentary workforce. Does that sound familiar?

Fitness with a Purpose

A meaningful purpose makes a tremendous difference in achieving fitness goals. What is yours? I explain some of mine here.

I served as a caseworker for 3 years, doing social service, and then over 8 years in the technology industry. Eventually, I pursued my passion in helping people achieve fitness. I graduated from University of California Santa Cruz with a double major in Biology and Psychology. I continued my studies in technology, biology, psychology, management, education and then obtained my certification for Personal Training. I am a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

In addition to fitness training and living a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle, I also enjoy running, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, playing volleyball and tennis, white water rafting, camping, playing video games and traveling. I believe in present awareness and self-acceptance, in setting and achieving goals and in making fitness a part of everyday life.

Let’s do it together!
